So, we are finding ourselves confined to our homes with nothing to do but practice, right?! That plus Facebook, lol! I thought it would be best to gather us all together here at my already established website to encourage musical connection and offer resources for how we can fill our time productively and wholesomely.
Here is a list of ideas:
Listen to favorite artists
Watch You Tube videos of great performances and masterclasses
Read biographies of great musicians
Read inspiring accounts of how to buckle down and practice wisely
Listen to podcasts that relate to great practicing and personal mindsets
Write down goals of what you want to accomplish during this alone time
Develop a personal practice of mindfulness and awareness
Connect to God, deeply
Exercise and Stretch the body
Deep clean your instrument and bow
Actually practice, but with design
Use a practice app like Modacity
Record yourself often/daily
Eat wisely
Sleep enough
Fill your mind with wholesome lifting thoughts
Drink plenty of water/tea
Have FaceTime/Skype lessons each week
Get creative sharing your talents
I will offer more specific ways to do all this in the coming days. In the meantime, browse what is already here on my website, while not “new” still good to refresh. I will be updating some of the site during these weeks as well. Subscribe so you stay aware of updates and new posts.
I wish you all health and growth during this time. If we do this right we will come out better than before.
Blessings,
Kim
